Haval coming to Pakistan

The year 2021 is the year of new automakers in Pakistan. We have seen new brands coming into the local market one after the other. While most of these brands are successfully taking flight, more international brands are set to arrive in Pakistan. Haval is a Chinese automaker planning to set up a shop in the country. While this may be true, the initial plan of the company is to bring 2 affordable premium SUVs to the local market as competition to KIA Sportage, MG HS, Proton X70, and DFSK Glory.

Haval – Company Details

The Chinese automaker Haval is set to debut in Pakistan this year in a partnership with Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW). For those familiar with the name of a large automotive group Great Wall Motors, Haval is a subsidiary to it. This automotive group specializes in manufacturing crossover SUVs, and off-roading vehicles.

Expected SUVs

As per the news, Haval will be launching the H6 and Jolion SUVs in the local market by September 2021. The H6 is a compact category SUV with direct competition with KIA Sportage, MG HS, and Hyundai Tucson.

On the other hand, the Jolion falls under the subcompact category of SUVs. This means that we can expect this car to compete with Toyota CH-R, Honda Vezel, MG ZS, and Nissan Juke.

It looks like Pakistan’s SUV sector is growing to heights when it comes to the variety of choices available. It is important to mention that most cars of this category are coming from new automakers in the country. However, names like Sportage, MG HS, and Tucson are currently among the top choices in the local market.

Haval SUVs Expected Price

It is too soon to predict the official price of the upcoming affordable premium SUVs. While this may be valid, it is important to understand that ‘affordable’ and ‘premium’, when combined together, do not remain too affordable.

Keeping this in view, we can expect the price bracket of Haval SUVs to be within PKR 4 million – PKR 4.5 million. We will update the official price and features of the two cars as soon as we get an official word on it.
