The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) continues to bleed against the US Dollar (USD) and standing at all-time low of Rs 276.58 per USD as the trading resumed on February 06, 2023.

The rupee rose by Rs 1.74 against the USD on January 31 following a record nosedive of Rs 24.54 recorded in a single day on January 26.

However, that marginal recovery seemed to be short-lived and the rupee again depreciated by Rs 5.22 (1.89%) in the Interbank Session against the dollar on February 03 and settled at Rs 276.58.

Meanwhile, the foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) further declined by US$ 592 million to US$ 3.08 billion by week ended on January 27, 2023 as compared with US$ 3.67 billion a week ago.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
