ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) organized a series of exhibitions during the current fiscal year (2016-17) to showcase Pakistani products in the international market and help promote exports from the country.

“The sole aim of the exhibitions is to promote Pakistani products and enhance exports from the country,” sources in the authority said.

The TDAP facilitated as many as 35 Pakistani companies to participate in the Arab Health exhibition early this year.

They exhibited their products including Surgical and Dental instruments, hospital furniture,  gowns, bed sheet, pillows, blankets, uniform, all kinds of bandages, IV Infusion, X-Ray, Ophthalmology and Diagnostic Instruments, Eye surgery manufacturing, assorted Scissors and Forceps, Sterile Single Use Instruments, Mobile health applications and Dialysis Solutions.

From February 28 to March 2, the authority booked an exclusive Pakistan Pavilion at a prominent location in the North Hall of Las Vegas Convention Centre, having 13 booths for display of Pakistani products.

The authority in March 2016 facilitated participation of 12 Pakistani companies to participate in Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, Bologna, Italy.

This is the leading 360 worldwide event for the professional beauty sector and an international platform for the cosmetics and wellness industry.

The TDAP for second time participated in 47th International Style Kabo Fair, Brno Czech Republic from 20-22 February 2016. In this trade fair exhibitors from all over Europe offered and presented new brands, novelties and fashion trends in clothing from each field to professionals.

The TDAP also organized Single Country Exhibition at Colombo Sri Lanka in January 2016, featuring 110 leading Pakistani organizations and manufacturers of Engineering Products, Auto Parts, Agro Products, Textile & Clothing, Designer Wear, Handicraft & Traditional Textiles, Cosmetics and Herbal Products, Pharmaceuticals, Cutlery, Gems & Jewellery, Furniture, Carpets, Marble, and Services.

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan along with Sri Lankan Minister for Commerce and Industry Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister for Development Strategies and International Trade Mallik Samarawickrama, CEO TDAP S. M. Muneer, Secretary TDAP Ms Rabia Javeri and High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj Gen (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain formally inaugurated the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016.

The TDAP also facilitated participation of Pakistani companies by establishing Pakistan Pavilion in Gulfood 2015 Exhibition in Dubai UAE during 21-25 February 2016.

Pakistan Pavilion is most ambitious display of Pakistan’s Best of Food Potential to GCC, Middle East and Northern African markets.

In pursuance of Diversification of Pakistani exports, TDAP has arranged participation of biggest number of Pakistani companies to showcase their products in World’s biggest Food Expo.

The 18th edition of InterSec was held from 17 -19 January 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring 1,280 exhibitors and showcased more than 31,100 visitors from 127 countries.

This year, 1,290 exhibitors from 55 countries participated under one roof to showcase their latest technology and innovative brands.

There were 13 country pavilions from Germany, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, UK, USA, Canada, China, India, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the UAE. There were 15 Pakistani companies participating, showcasing their new innovative products to regional and global visitors/buyers.

The TDAP has been facilitating the participation of Pakistani exporters at the Souring at Magic Show at Las Vegas USA for many years now. This year also TDAP booked an exclusive Pakistan Pavilion at a prominent location in North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Centre, having 18 booths for display of Pakistani products.

Texworld (Fabrics and Apparel Souring), Paris, France (15-18 February, 2016) The 38th edition of Texworld, was held from 15th to 18th February, 2016 in Paris France, which was participated by 658 exhibitors from 22 countries and as usual Pakistan was very adequately represented in the exhibition through 38 exhibitors.

The TDAP is also a regular participant of Expo Riva Schuh International Shoe Fair, Riva Del Garda, Italy whihc was held on 16-19 January this year while the authority also established 4th China South-Asia Expo (CSAE), Kunming, China (12-17 June, 2016) Pakistan Pavilion at the opening ceremony of the 4th China- South Asia Expo allocating 234 booths to Pakistan this year, which made the Pakistan pavilion the biggest pavilion in the Expo.

The International trade fair for beauty products, cosmetics, perfumery, salons and wellness “Beauty World Middle East” was held from 15th – 17th May, 2016 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

More than 1,530 exhibitors from 60 countries were present at the exhibition and 26 countries including Pakistan had Country Pavilions.

National Hardware Show, Las Vegas, USA was held from 4 – 6 May, 2016 and over 2,800 exhibitors and nearly 30,000 industry professionals from 32 countries converged on the Las Vegas Convention Center. An exclusive Pakistan Pavilion was booked at the International Souring Area in the Central Hall of Las Vegas Convention Center, having 13 booths for display of Pakistani products.

The TDAP also organized Pakistan Trade Caravan to the Central Asian Republics from 13 – 25 May, 2016 to promote Pakistan’s economic and strategic ties with the region.

The event was elaborately planned and executed with various components which included a Fashion Show, Cultural Show, Mango Tasting and VIP Dinner.

The exhibitors represented Pakistan’s major export sectors like harmaceutical, Textile, Clothing, Sports Goods (Martial Arts), Surgical Instruments, Agro Products including Food and Vegetable, and Carpets.

The TDAP organized the 1st ever product specific exhibition in Pakistan by the name of TEXPO 2016 in 7-10 April, 2016. Overall 230 major companies, who are the leading exporters of Pakistan, set up 320 stalls in 4 exhibition Halls and over 450 foreign buyers/importers from around 60 countries visited TEXPO 2016.
