KARACHI, Pakistan: The remittances sent by Overseas Pakistanis rose to US$ 2.7 billion in August 2022, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.

The State Bank said that US$ 2.7 billion remittances received in August 2022 was up by 7.9 percent as compared to the July 2022 and 1.5 percent as compared to August 2021.

During August 22, workers’ remittances rose to US$2.7 billion, up 7.9% compared to the previous month and 1.5% compared to August 2021,” the State Bank of Pakistan tweeted on Tuesday.

As per the Country-Wise Workers Remittances Breakdown of August 2022, mainly inflows were received from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The data tells that out of a total of US$ 2,724 million, remittances worth US$ 691.8 million were received from Saudi Arabia, US$ 531.4 million from UAE, and US$ 300.8 million from other GCC Countries.

Likewise, US$ 294.2 million arrived from the United States, US$ 369.7 million from United Kingdom, and US$ 274.8 from EU Countries.
