The Pakistani rupee (PKR) further depreciated by 0.02 percent against the US dollar in the interbank market on October 14, 2022 as the value of US dollar ended at Rs 218.43.
Earlier on Thursday (October 13), the US dollar stood at Rs 218.38 when the trading ended.

Senator Ishaq Dar assumed the Office of the Finance Minister on September 28, 2022 when the US dollar was trading at Rs 232.12.
Just a few days ago i.e on September 22, the US dollar had even touched Rs 239.71 before it took a sharp dip and reached Rs 217.79 on October 11.

Meanwhile, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the total liquid foreign reserves held by the Country stood at US$ 13.24 billion as of October 07, 2022.
Of the Country’s total reserves, US$ 7.59 billion are held by the State Bank of Pakistan while US$ 5.64 billion are with Commercial Banks.
It’s worth noting that the Country’s total foreign exchange reserves were US$ 14.07 billion on September 16, 2020 including US$ 8.34 billion held by the SBP but they depleted to US$ 13.24 billion three weeks later.
