ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airline has suffered loss of 7.44 billion rupees in first quarter of year 2013, it was revealed in a meeting held to review financial matters of the troubled airline on Friday.

The meeting of the PIA Board of Directors (BoD) held under Chairman Asif Yasin Malik today was briefed over business outcomes of fiscal year 2012 and 2013 and it was revealed there that the PIA has suffered loss of 7.44 billion rupees in first quarter of year 2013, informed sources.

The PIA suffered business loss of 32.36 billion rupees with operational losses of 19.42 billion rupees in 2012.

The national air carrier spent 61.15 billion rupees on fuel account, 69.04 billion rupees on other services and 12.29 billion rupees on administrative expenses in these years, added sources.
