BusinessPetroleum Ministry rejects summary for fuel price increase

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Petroleum on Thursday rejected the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) summary seeking an increase in the price of petroleum products, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

The Ministry said the profit of oil marketing companies and dealers had not been included in the summary.

On Tuesday OGRA forwarded a proposal to the Ministry of Petroleum seeking a per litre increase of Rs3.52 in the price of petrol.

It is pertinent to mention that the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in a meeting held on Tuesday approved an increase in profit margins of oil marketing companies and petroleum dealers by 10 paisa per litre on high-speed diesel on a summary moved by the Ministry of Petroleum.
