ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The production of passenger cars in Pakistan during first five months of current fiscal year increased by 44.4 percent as compared to same period of last year.

During the period July-November 2015-16, a total of 75,627 cars were produced as compared to the production of 52,238 cars during same period of last year.

On month-on-month basis the overall passenger cars production in November 2015 increased by 52.5 percent as compared to that of November 2014.

As many as 15,879 cars were produced during November 2015 while during same month of last year 10,392 cars were produced in the country.

According to official sources, 9,472 Honda cars were produced during the period under review whereas during July-November (2014-15), the Honda cars production remained at 8,571 cars.

Similarly, Suzuki Swift cars production remained at 2,095 during the period under review whereas 2,067 units were produced during same period of last year.

Toyota Corolla produced 23,429 cars during first five months of current fiscal year while during last year it produced 17,122 cars.

Likewise during July-November (2015-16) 6,778 Suzuki Cultus cars were produced as compared to the production of 5,731 cars during same period of last year.

The production of Suzuki WagonR during first five months remained at 3,253 while during same period of last year 1,825 cars were produced.

Suzuki Mehran produced 15,528 units during the period under review while 11,087 cars were produced during same period of last year.

Similarly, Suzuki Bolan production during the period remained at 16,072 while during first five months of the year 2014-15, 5,835 Suzuki Bolan cars were produced.
