ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s exports of textiles and pharmaceuticals witnessed a healthy growth in July-December 2020, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.

Sharing the figures of textile export for July-December 2020 on Wednesday, the adviser said that the exports of home textiles increased by 16% to US$ 2,017 million in July-December 2020, reflecting a steady export growth of the textile sector.

Likewise, the exports of readymade garments grew by 25% to US$ 1,181 million and tents/canvas by 57% to US$ 62 million during the said period.Pakistan’s exports of textiles and pharmaceuticals witnessed a healthy growth in July-December 2020, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood. Abdul Razak Dawood said that during July-December 2020, the exports of pharmaceuticals increased by 25% to US$ 138 million, ethyl alcohol (industrial) by 14% to US$ 182 million tobacco & cigarettes by 84.50% to US$ 29 million, and processed food by 120% to US$ 25 million.

The adviser said that it is even more encouraging to note that the non-textile sector exports are also showing healthy growth.
