ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s exports increased by 14 percent to US$ 22.563 billion during July-May 2021 as compared to US$ 19.801 billion in the corresponding year last year, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Commerce, Textile and Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood.

Sharing the provisional figures on Wednesday, the adviser said that this is an increase of US$ 2.762 billion and the credit goes to our exporters for maintaining the momentum of our exports during a year marred by contraction and uncertainty in our major markets.

Abdul Razak Dawood said that on a monthly comparison with last year, in May 2021 the exports increased by 18.7% to US$ 1.657 billion as compared to US$ 1.396 billion in May 2020.

The adviser said that the dip in exports to below 2 billion mark is because of extended EID holidays which was done as part of the mobility control to curtail the spread of COVID-19 during EID time.
