ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood has said that Pakistan’s exports have maintained growth and for the first time in eight years, the exports have crossed the 2 billion mark in four consecutive months.

In a series of tweets on Monday, the adviser said that Pakistan’s export for January 2021 is up by 8% to US$ 2.14 billion as compared to $ 1.98 billion in January 2020, according to the provisional figures.

The adviser said that the exports for July-January 2020-21 have increased by 5.5% to US$ 14.245 billion as compared to US$ 13.507 billion during July-January 2019-20.

Abdul Razak Dawood said that Pakistan’s cumulative exports for seven months of FY 2020-21 are showing a rising trend.

The prime minister’s adviser further said that the exporters have achieved this feat despite difficulties created by the COVID-19 pandemic, regional export situation, and contraction in major markets.

The adviser asked the exporters to go ahead with full speed in exporting their products and in case of any hurdle, they should inform the Ministry of Commerce.
