ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Science and Technology has accorded its approval to the 61 Standards of Electronics as per the promise earlier made, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday.

In a statement on his Twitter account, Fawad Chaudhry said that now it requires the approval of the Federal Cabinet after which the exercise will come into force.

Fawad Chaudhry said that once the Federal Cabinet approves it, the Country will no longer import colored electrical switches and boards, and only standard electronics products could be sold in Pakistan.

The minister further said that now in the next phase, the standards of vehicles and tractors manufactured in Pakistan will be upgraded.

The federal minister said that if we have to excel in the world, we must abide by the standard practices and ensure their implementation.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the Minister of Industries and Production Hammad Azhar has assured him of his full assistance in that regard as the cooperation by the Industries Ministry is a prerequisite.
