ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia have expressed their resolve to promote the bilateral trade relations by ending the impasse hampering trade between the two countries, the finance minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday.

The finance minister was chairing a meeting of the committee formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resolve long standing trade issues between Pakistan and Russia in Islamabad on Monday.

Dar said that both governments have expressed their resolve to overcome the issue and promote the trade relations.

The minister said that the Russian side is interested in investing in Railway, oil and gas exploration and steel manufacturing industry in Pakistan.

The commerce minister Khurram Dastgir Khan emphasized on a definite timeline for resolution of the dispute and informed that the commerce ministry is vigorously pursuing the efforts.

The finance minister said that said all concerned ministries should be on one page and work for honorable resolution of this issue. He said that the solution should be win-win situation for both the Russian government and our businessmen.
