BusinessKSE benchmark index touches historic 19,000-point level

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange’s benchmark index touched historic 19,000-point level on Tuesday as investors’ sentiment was buoyant on impressive corporate earnings.

The KSE 100-share index, however, eased slightly to close at historic 18,994.46 points. The index hit an intra-day high of 19005.46 points.

Market turnover remained impressive at 134 million shares.

Dealers said market outlook in the short term seems bullish on good corporate earnings and hopes that the country will have smooth democratic transition after May 11 elections.
