ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Eight Ramadan Sasta Bazaars have been established in the rural and city areas of Islamabad to provide essential commodities to the citizens at low rates during the month of Ramazan.

These sasta bazaars will start working from the first of Ramazan. District Administration has set up four sasta bazaars in the rural areas i.e Tarlai, Bhara Khau, Pakistan Town and Rawat as well as Capital Development Authority (CDA), has also set up sasta bazaars at Sector, G-6, G-10, I-9 and H-9. These sasta bazaars in the city areas will be held in the weekly bazaars.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of district administration claimed that Islamabad Market Committee is fixing the rates of fruits and vegetables on daily basis in the Sabzi Mandi, Islamabad and rate list is being supplied to the shopkeepers instantly for display at their shops and strict implementation would be ensured.

The Islamabad Market Committee, in co-operation with traders is keeping the rate of profit of fruit and vegetables at minimum level during the holy month of Ramadan in order to provide relief to the citizens.

Abundance supply of fruits and vegetable was being ensured at the Sabzi Mandi, Islamabad.

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has also activated price control committees headed by the magistrates to keep strict watch over the prices of food items and take on the spot action against the profiteers.

Daily price checking has been started by the magistrates and those overcharging will be dealt with as per law with strict action.

The teams are also checking quality of milk and meat coming from other cities and stern action would be taken against the adulterators.

The district administration has fixed the rates of food items in the markets during the month of Ramazan which will be effective from the Ist of Ramadan. Milk rate is fixed Rs. 90/-, yogurt rate Rs. 105 per kg, Samosa, one dozen, Rs. 168/-, Pakora per kg, Rs. 210/-, Jaleebi per kg Rs. 210/-, Daal Chana Supreme, Rs. 135/- per kg, Daal Chana medium Rs, 130/- per kg, Daal Moong Moti Rs. 150/- per kg, Daal Mong (Bareek) Rs. 135 per kg, Daal Masoor Rs. 140 per kg, Daal Masoor Bareek, Rs. 150 per kg, Daal Mash, Rs. 270 per kg, basin, Rs, 150 per kg, Rice Awal Rs. 110 per kg, Rice Supper new Karnal Rs. 90/- per kg, Rice Kainaat Rs. 140 per kg, Rice Tota, Rs. 50/- per kg. Flour 20 kg bag, Rs. 615/.
