Monitoring Desk: This week a conference titled “Expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Tajikistan” was held in Dushanbe.

According to Tajik Agency, on July 4, a conference on the topic “Expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Tajikistan” was held at the Hilton Hotel in Dushanbe, with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Tajik Agency reported.

Local craftswomen organized a fair-sale of hand-made items.

“The conference was held within the framework of the program“ Women in Business ”, which started in Tajikistan in September 2017,” the EBRD office in Tajikistan reports.

The program aims to promote the development of entrepreneurship among women by providing access to finance and technological solutions necessary to ensure business growth, the report says.

In total, the EBRD allocated a million for the development of entrepreneurship for women in Tajikistan.

The assistance provided by the EBRD will make loans for women entrepreneurs more affordable. The Bank has provided women entrepreneurs access to mentoring, training courses and know-how from local consultants and international experts to develop their business.
It should be reported that today the EBRD has invested about 670 million euros in various sectors of the economy and has provided access to consultations for more than 700 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
