ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The computer services exports from the Country increased by 32.11 percent during the first two months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last year.
Pakistan earned $111.380 million from the exports of computer services during July-August (2017-18) against the services of $84.310 million, according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Among the computer services, the Country earned $54.365 million by exporting software consultancy services during the first two months, showing a growth of 69.22 percent when compared to the export of $32.126 million during last year.
The Country also exported hardware consultancy services worth $0.732 million, witnessing a growth of 144.41 percent compared to the export of $0.299 million of the same services during the last year.
The services for maintenance and repairs of computers also earned $0.391 million for the Country compared to $0.231 million, showing growth of 68.97 million.
However, the services for trade of computer software during the period under review witnessed negative growth of 1.01 percent during the period under review as these declined to $40.766 million this year from $41.181 million during the last year.
The exports of other computer services also increased by 44.46 percent, from $10.470 million last year to $15.126 million during the current fiscal year, the data revealed.
Meanwhile, the export of telecommunication services from the Country decreased by 0.93 percent by going down from the trade of $63.430 million last year to $62.840 million during the current fiscal year.
Among the telecommunication services, the exports of call center service grew by 16.53 percent as its trade was recorded at $15.141 million during July-August (2017-18) compared to the exports of $12.993 million in July-August (2016-17).
The exports of other telecommunication services witnessed negative growth of 5.43 percent during the first two months compared to the exports of last year.
The exports of other telecommunication services increased from $50.436 million last year to $47.699 million during the current year.
It is pertinent to mention here that the overall services exports from the Country increased by 4.94 percent during the first two months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period of last year.
The services exports during the period under review were recorded at $816.27 million compared to the exports of 777.84 million in last year.
