ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As the Tax Reformation in the Country is need of the time, the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) organized an in-house discussion on “Tax Reforms in Pakistan” in Islamabad.
The discussion was organized to formulate a suggestive policy paper for relevant stakeholder departments of government of Pakistan.
Eminent personalities participated in the discussion, providing their valuable insight about the topic.
The participants of the discussion included former Federal Secretary Information and Broadcasting & Senior Advisory Board Member CGSS Ashfaq Ahmed Gondal, former Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Mumtaz Haider Rizvi, Member Advisory Board CGSS Syed Bukhtiyar Kazmi, Chairman Subcommittee Income Tax/Sales Tax and FBR Affairs Muhammad Naeem Siddique, Chartered Accountant at Riet Management Company Massom Akhter, Member Advisory Board CGSS Brigadier (retd) Abdullah Khan, Sustainable Development Policy Institute’s (SDPI) Wasif Naqvi, Executive Director CGSS Lt Colonel (retd) Khalid Taimur Akram, Advocate Main Abdul Rauf and Advocate Malik Ibrar.
The participants were of the view that keeping in view the demography, level of economic growth and existence of rural regions and urban communities in Pakistan, a progressive tax policy with efficient administration can lead to revenue and wealth distribution.
