ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Australia is all set to import mangoes from Pakistan, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.

In a Twitter statement on Tuesday, the adviser said that two mango treatment facilities in Pakistan, Mustafa Farm and Iftekhar Ahmed & Company (IAC), have been approved by the Australian authorities for the export of mangoes from Pakistan.

Abdul Razak Dawood said that this has been done just in time for the mango season.

The adviser congratulated both the Companies on this achievement and commended the facilitation provided by the Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney Muhammad Ashraf in this regard.

On May 20, while speaking at a webinar organised by the English Speaking Union of Pakistan (ESUP), the Australian High Commissioner Dr Geoffrey Shaw said that Pakistan and Australia are working together at restoring markets as there is still a lot of potential and room for growth there.

“There are encouraging signs, too, as Pakistan’s exports (to Australia) have increased by 30 percent. This includes rice exports from Pakistan and more health supplements and infant formula from Australia,” the High Commissioner said.
