ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The ex-Country Director and currently Chief Thematic Officer in ADB’s Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department Ms. Xiaohong Yang held a meeting with the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail at the Finance Division in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Country Director Asian Development Bank (ADB) Yong Ye and senior officers from the Finance Division also participated in the meeting.

Miftah Ismail welcomed the delegation from ADB and acknowledged ADB’s role in pursuing reform agenda through various projects in Pakistan.

The finance minister also shared about the priorities of the present government, giving a prime focus to effective structural reforms for cultivation of sustainable and inclusive economic growth in Pakistan.

The ADB delegation apprised the Federal Minister about the progress of various projects being undertaken by ADB in Pakistan especially in the areas of energy and social protection.

They reiterated that the Country Partnership Strategy for Pakistan 2021-25 is in complete consonance with the vision of the government of Pakistan.

The finance minister, in conclusion, expressed gratitude to ADB delegation for their continuous collaboration and assured them of full cooperation for the speedy implementation of the ongoing programs.
