Written, produced and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the Bollywood movie “Mulk” is starring Rishi Kapoor as Murad Ali Mohammed and Taapsee Pannu as Aarti Malhotra/Mohammed in lead roles. It has been shot in Benaras and Lucknow.

The first official teaser was really strong and showed some intense shots of courtroom. Despite of controversies, it was attracting attention due to its powerful content.

The movie revolves around Murad Ali Mohammed (Rishi Kapoor) and Aarti Malhotra (Taapsee Pannu) leading the role of a lawyer. She fought for her family when the youngest son of the family Shahid (Pratiek Babbar) indulged in terrorism activities. He was encountered by anti-terrorism group and declared as a terrorist. Shahid’s father and Murad’s younger brother Bilal (Manoj Pahwa) was arrested due to his son’s unlawful activities. Murad took the charge before he was dragged into the case too. Later on, Murad’s daughter-in-law Aarti Mohammad took the charge of the case and fought for the justice and lost honor of her family.

“Mulk” has high lightened some serious issues regarding religion, patriotism as well as Hindu-Muslim controversies. Taapsee Pannu stated that discrimination for Muslim community was the major reason behind this film. When the trailer was released, she told reporters that her manager, driver and house help are Muslims. She also said “My life is run by them and it’s very disturbing to see a particular community being targeted”.

However, Anubhav’s movie “Mulk” has been banned by Pakistan Censor board due to some controversies.

While the director Anubhav Sinha has two movies lined up. “Mulk”, which follows the life of Muslim family confronting difficulties in Indian society. And the other one is “Abhi toh Party Shuru Hui Hai” which is a satirical movie pointing several factors regarding politics.

Well the movie has been receiving positive reviews uptil now but might not perform well due to box office clash. Anil Kapoor’s “Fanney Khan” and Irrfan Khan’s “Karwaan” have also been released on the same date. The audiences probably get divided. All these three films will suffer because of this box office clash. This weekend is going to be really thrilling and will witness an interesting fight between these three. Let’s see which one will turn the gear.
