For the past few years, we have observed digital reforms in several state institutions. PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) is actively working to improve the credibility of engineering profiles. As reported recently, PEC is currently in the process to update the invalid databases. The list of engineers who have invalid profiles or missing information is available on the PEC official website. Professionals and registered engineers can update their profiles by logging onto the PEC profile update portal at portal.pec.org.pk.
PEC Profile Update Instructions for Engineers
PEC is making some changes in light of Section 19 of the PEC Act 1973. According to this act, it is mandatory for all engineers to have a valid PEC membership renewal card.
a) As per Section 19 of the PEC Act 1976, it is mandatory for all engineers to possess a valid PEC membership renewal card. Engineers who have paid a lifetime subscription fee, but do not possess valid renewal cards are also advised to apply for the issuance of membership renewal cards without any fee.
b) ) All such Engineers who have not yet renewed their membership can avail the opportunity (valid up to Dec 31, 2020) of life subscription on payment of Rs 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) including arrears for renewal at their registration through registration portal (portal.pec.org.pk).
You can find more details on the PEC website.
How to Do it?
The listed individuals can update their databases through the online portal available on the PEC website (profileupdate.pec.org.pk). It is important to update the profile with a scanned copy of a valid CNIC. You may also need to attach all the other relevant documents (check on the PEC website).
The list of individuals with invalid databases can be viewed here.
When a listed individual will submit the updated profile, he/she will receive a confirmation email from PEC. We recommend not to wait till the last day and complete the profiles as early as possible to avoid any inconvenience.
