Nordic International School Pakistan

The evolution of education is inevitable. The old rote learning methods of teaching and the overwhelming information used to occupy children cease to fulfill their purpose in present time. Ask yourself this; how has memorizing a definition to the term osmosis ever helped anyone actually utilizes the natural process in their daily lives?

Education in Pakistan is way past the point of such contemptible methods of teaching. It is time that local education evolved by integrating what is learnt in a classroom with daily activities. Modern education should focus on the student’s independent activity, the organization of self-learning environments and experimental and practical training, where students have a choice of actions and can use initiative—as well as flexible training programs where students can work in a comfortable rhythm. Today, we should talk about the use of interactive methods of training, which encourage interest in the profession; provide high motivation, strength, knowledge, team spirit and freedom of expression; and most importantly, contribute to the complex competencies of future leaders.

So far, only a few schools have made efforts to integrate such learning in their curriculum but that too half-heartedly. Save for one school, Nordic International, that has weaved activities throughout its curriculum and build its whole structure around it, not many private or public schools are willing to take the initiative.  With a simple philosophy

Their mission is simple; to create global leaders that are well anchored in their local heritage. They believe that the ability to explore the opportunities of the world starts by understanding your own part in it first. They call this approach ‘Glocal’- the combination of international standards and learning with local Anchorage and knowledge. NIS wants to break this rote learning system and teach children how to become leaders by introducing personal development programs and engaging children in extracurricular activities as well.

Nordic International School posits an excellent example of how things need to be and how schools need to put in that extra effort if they want to compete with this kind of highly evolved schooling.
