Who can renew his passport?

  • An individual whose passport has been expired.
  • Passport’s validity is less than 7 months.

Requirements for Renewal of Machine Readable Passport

You should have these 4 things with you.

  1. Supporting Documents

There are three categories in it. Required documents for each of them is different. We are writing the required documents under each category separately. Have a look, please.

  1. For Individuals Older than 18 years
  • You must have color scanned valid copies of the following:
  • CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP both sides
  • Existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by the system).
  • Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport
  1. For Individuals Less than 18 years
  • You must have color scanned valid copies of the following:
  • NICOP or Smart card (both sides) or Computerized B-Form or Family Registration Certificate
  • Mother and father valid National ID Cards (both sides)
  • Guardianship certificate/ court decision in case of separation.
  • Minor’s attestation form (available in the download tab).
  • Death Certificate if the mother or father has passed away.
  • Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.
  1. Government Employees
  • You must have color scanned valid copies of the following:
  • CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP both sides
  • No-Objection Certificate (NOC) in case he/ she is working as Government Officer/ Official, Armed forces-Officers/ or employee of Semi-Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ Corporation. The NOC is subject to confirmation/ verification by the department concerned.
  • Existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by the system).
  • Valid Visa/Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.
  1. Photograph

The photograph size must be less than 5 MB. You must take care of the following things for the photograph.

  • Not be more than 6-months old.
  • Be in sharp focus and clear. Facing forward and looking straight in the camera.
  • Be taken against a plain white background.
  • Must show a close-up of your full head and shoulders.
  • Must be only of you with no other objects or people in the photograph. Even, without any shadows in the picture.

It is the visual representation of the above rules.

  1. Fingerprint form

You have to download the form from the official website, print it and then fill it according to the rules. In the end, you have to capture the fingerprint.

  • Write all information in clear BLOCK letters using black ink.
  • Enter data within the boundaries of the designated field or block.
  • Complete all required fields. (If a required field is left blank, the fingerprint form will be rejected without further processing.)
  • The form must be scanned at 600 dpi, JPEG and in Grayscale.

How to Record your Fingerprint on the Form

It must be clear; otherwise, the form will get rejected. So here are some precautions.

  • Do not Roll the finger for taking fingerprints
  • Do not use Highlighters on the form
  • Fingerprints must not be smudged.
  • Ensure notations are made for any missing fingerprint impression (i.e., amputation)
  • There must be no stray marks within the fingerprint impression blocks

  1. Valid Credit Card/Debit Card for online payment of your application fee.

Steps To Apply Online For Ordinary Passport Renewal

Apply online with these easy steps.

  1. Click on the “Get Started” button on the website.
  2. Register your account. Now there are two cases.
  • If you are living in Pakistan, an SMS and email code will be sent to you for registration.
  • If you are abroad, all required codes will be sent via email only.
  1. Create an application for Renewal of your machine-readable passport and provide details for your application.
  2. Provide your address for machine-readable passport delivery.
  3. Pay Fee through a Credit Card/Debit Card.
  4. Provide the required personal details along with present and permanent addresses (according to your valid documents).
  5. Upload your photograph (about which we mentioned earlier in the required documents).
  6. Upload the all supporting documents required by the application. (We have mentioned all of these in the above sections)
  7. Download the form, capture the 4 fingerprints asked by the system.
  8. Set the scanner at 600 DPI, JPEG/JPG, and Grayscale. Scan and upload the form.
