The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has updated and reactivated the “Pehchaan Mobile App” based on real-time records of all criminals in the province.
The Pehchaan App had been launched in 2022; however, its operation came to a halt after a while but now since it has been updated, the record of all criminals across Punjab is available in real time.
The app aims to facilitate public to search or find the criminal record or background of any person they are dealing with e.g., employee verification, marriage or business dealing etc.

Having downloading the app on his/her Android Mobile Device, anyone can have an easy access to the criminal background record of any person through the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). It will help him or her verify background of a person by checking if a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against them.

Therefore, if someone has to hire someone at home, to look after his business, or let out his house to a tenant etc, he/she must check their criminal record with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s “Pehchaan App” before proceeding further.
How to Use Pehchaan App?
To use the app after downloading it, one initially needs to sign up by providing his/her name, mobile number, valid CNIC, and gender & city information. Once an account has been created, the app can be logged in by entering the mobile number.

To get initial information about whether the concerned person has a criminal record or not, the applicant just has to enter his/her CNIC number, provide the reason, enter the Captcha, and click on the ‘Search Record’ button.
