The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced four holidays for all employees on the eve of upcoming Eid Al Fitr from April 20-23, 2023.

In its official announcement, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation said that all Public and Private Sector Employees in UAE will get a four-day weekend from coming Thursday until Sunday (Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 1444H).Eid Al Fitr 2023 Holidays in UAEThe ministry announced that Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 will be a paid holiday for all employees in the Public and Private Sectors across the UAE.

“Kindly be informed that Eid Al Fitr holiday should be from 29 Ramadan until 3 Shawwal,” the ministrt said.

“This comes in line with the UAE Cabinet’s decision to grant equal official public holidays to both, the public and private sectors,” it said.

On April 3, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society Ibrahim al-Jarwan said that the first day of Eid Al Fitr 2023 in UAE will fall on Friday (April 21).

“Ramadan’s full moon will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 8.36 a.m. local time, while the crescent of the moon of Shawwal will be born on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 8.13 a.m., and will set 22 minutes after sunset,” Ibrahim al-Jarwan was quoted as saying on local media.
