Note: The is no proposal under consideration by the federal government to decrease the fee for the issuance of new passport.
Online Passport Processing Facility for Overseas Pakistanis
To facilitate Overseas Pakistanis, the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports launched the Online Passport Processing Facility in October 2016 to the extent of one category i,e, “Renewal of Passport”.
This facility was revamped in December 2021 and five new categories have been introduced in the new Online facility as per following:
- “NEW” (For new born babies and toddlers up to 2 years)
- “Reprint Lost” (To the extent of 1st& 2nd Lost only)
- “Reprint Damage”
- “Reprint Exhaust”
- Modification” (Change in Marital Status/ change in Surname/ change in Husband name/ change in Profession)
Since inception of the Online Portal, 914,414 passports have been issued through the online facility whereas 5,000 applications are under process at the moment.
