With an objective to cater the financial needs of the underprivileged and vulnerable segments of the society, the Benazir Kafalat Programme has successfully been running under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), a social welfare initiative launched in 2008.

Benazir Kafalat Programme: How to Check Eligibility and Receive Amount? Since the Country has plunged into the whirlpool of heightened inflation, the significance of social welfare-oriented programmes has soared manifold.

As of now, the number of the registered beneficiaries of Benazir Kafalat Programme stands at 8.71 million and the federal government aims to enhance the number to 9 million by June 2023.

In January 2023, the Transgender Community was also declared eligible to receive the financial assistance under the programme.

Earlier, the eligible persons were receiving a six-month cash grant of Rs 12,000; however, now the stipend amount has been enhanced to Rs 14,000.

Under the programme, the federal government initiated the disbursement of Rs 55 billion among more than 7.7 million beneficiaries on January 09 for the first quarter of 2023. For it, each deserving family received Rs 7,000 as the quarterly stipend through the Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

How to Receive Stipend Amount?

  • Eligible female beneficiary will receive an SMS from 8171
  • Upon receiving the SMS, the beneficiary will be required to visit the nearest HBL / Bank Alfalah Limited (BAFL) Point of Sale (POS) / retailer in her Tehsil along with her original CNIC to receive the first installment through Biometric Verification.
  • If the eligible female doesn’t receive any SMS, she may visit nearest Benazir Registration Desk established at BISP Tehsil Office.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
