Unfortunately, the streets of Pakistan aren’t safe for women anymore. Every day we hear new news about a woman, child, or a young girl who was kidnapped, raped, and abused. Every day there is new news that leaves us shocked, disturbed, and terrified to the core. This is why, it important with every passing day, for us to make sure we protect ourselves and find ways through which we can keep ourselves protected when going out. We can’t stop going out. But we can make sure, we prepare ourselves for the vicious monsters this society is birthing every day. Therefore, here are some tips that you should keep in mind the next time you go out, so you are always safe and protected: Buy A Taser Since the rape cases have reportedly increased in Pakistan, we have seen various online pages selling tasers. Not just online, but retails shops have started stocking them as well. First of all, do know that keeping a taser is legal. If you don’t know, taser gives mild to medium electric shocks upon touching. This is not only legal but unlethal as well. However, it does give a good shock for some time. Hence, keeping it with you at all times would be beneficial in case of any unwanted and undesired emergency. Make A Pepper Spray Again, something widespread that is available in the market these days. But you can just as easily make it at home as well. You need oil, a lot of pepper and just cook them on low flame. Always keep it in a spray bottle with you, at a place where you can easily access it. In case of emergencies, you can just have to take it out and spread directly on the eyes if possible. Otherwise, it does cause a rash on the skin, so you get a leeway of a few seconds there as well and you can easily run away during that time. Learn Self Defense So, you might say, we know Kainaat, not a brainer! But, with the internet, YouTube and whatnot, it isn’t exactly hard to learn a few moves that can help you defend yourself in times of need and extreme emergencies. Go to YouTube, search for easy classes, and learn the moves. They will help you immensely if God forbid, a situation like that has to happen. Hence, a few moves will break the bones of those who try to even touch you but won’t harm you at all. Share Your Location at All Times If you are someone who travels alone a lot, especially in public transport, I recommend sharing your live location with a trusted source from friends or family. If your location is being shared when you are traveling, it will be very easy for someone to track you in case of an emergency. Do remember that the location should be shared with someone who can come for immediate help or can inform the right person if the need be. Keep A Weapon So, if taser, pepper spray, or anything along the same line is something that you cannot easily carry, just have something that can double up as a weapon. It can be a sharp small scissor, a small knife, a swiss knife, or even crushed red chill powder. But do remember that you should have an easy approach to all these when you are out, otherwise the purpose of them will be destroyed. These were some of the tips which you can follow to protect yourself on the streets of Pakistan. Unfortunately, it has to come to that, but we need to ensure our safety and protection in the time when it is the dire need for this country.
