QUETTA: At least five persons including the FC personnel were killed and several others sustained injuries when an explosion targeting a vehicle of the Frontier Corps (FC) exploded in Satellite Town area of Quetta on Thursday.

The explosion destroyed the FC vehicle completely, while the nearby buildings were also damaged in the blast.

The victims were shifted to Quetta’s Civil Hospital for treatment where an emergency had been imposed, while security personnel cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.

On the other hand, at least four persons were killed in an explosion that occurred at Eidgah Chowk in restive Balochistan’s Chaman area on Thursday morning.

The sources said that several cars were also damaged in the explosion.

Rescue and security teams reached the blast site and shifted the victims to the Civil Hospital in the city for medical treatment.
