The Yamaha MT-15 is essentially the Yamaha R15 but in a more comfortable streetfighter package. It is available in 3 variants and 5 colors. Yamaha MT 15 V2 is available at a starting price of 1,65,390 Indian Rupee with top variant priced at INR 1,67,402. Let’s dive deeper in to it’s features.

Design

MT-15 Ver 2.0 brings more aggression and agility with its Upside Down front forks and Aluminum Swingarm. The structure of the USD front forks allows wheel gets ample room for free movement, which makes it easier for the bike to navigate and change directions at higher speeds. With Aluminum Swingarm, MT-15 Ver 2.0 zooms through any terrain with utmost ease. It provides sportier and stable handling due to excellent rigidity balance.

MT-15’s perfect seat width offers upright riding position and easy leg reach. The easy-to-hold grab-bar offers a good grip to the pillion rider. The MT-15 Ver 2.0 leaves its own trail with the raised LED Tail Light that demands attention with its super sleek and edgy design.

Features

Equipped with with Bi Functional LED headlights, high and low beam has been integrated into one single compact unit. MT-15’s uniqueness comprises of the stylish, compact headlight to realize the MT design.

Multi-function Negative LCD Instrument Cluster features Bluetooth connectivity for call, SMS and email alerts. Letting you take advantage of all the information that it has to offer to help you ride better.

The In-built side stand engine cut-off switch does not let you forget to remove side stand during those immediate rides. ABS brakes are on both, front and rear wheels.

MT-15 Ver 2.0 adopts a Deltabox frame with superb rigidity balance. With a Deltabox frame, the top and bottom of the head pipe and the pivot points form a triangle, hence the “Deltabox” gives it excellent rigidity balance.

Engine & Performance

Powering the MT-15 ver 2.0 is the 155cc Liquid cooled 4-valve engine motor rated at 18.4hp at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm of torque at 7500rpm. Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system provides top-end power, allowing the 155cc engine to generate peak engine performance at higher revs without having to compensate for lack of low- to mid-range grunt.

An Assist and Slipper clutch (ASC) is adopted to reduce the weight of the clutch pull and provide low-stress shifting during deceleration. ASC helps to reduce fatigue for the rider. This also prevents excessive engine braking, thus reducing its effects on chassis behavior.

Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 has a fuel economy of about 57km/l with a fuel tank capacity of 10 liters.
