Government of PakistanBig difference between PTI, PPP ToRs on Panama Papers: Musadik

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Spokesman to the Prime Minister Dr Musadik Malik has said that there was a big difference between terms of reference (ToRs) on the Panama Papers tabled by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Senate and those of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted in the Supreme Court.

While speaking in a private news channel programme, Musadik Malik said that the opposition should not frame a person specific ToR for probing into Panama Papers.

He said although the name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in the Panama Papers but he presented himself for accountability.

Musadik Malik said the PTI was not ready to join the Parliament and it should adopt the parliamentary attitude rather than the criticizing the government outside the Parliament for political point scoring.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Muhammad Zubair and Daniyal Aziz said in a news conference in Islamabad that lawyers of PTI have failed to submit even a single documentary evidence in the apex court.

Muhammad Zubair said that the PTI Chairman and his cronies waved documents in public meetings and TV channels and repeated allegations but now their lawyers have declined to present any evidence.

In his remarks, Daniyal Aziz said that the interviews of Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz were concocted to create ambiguity and to mislead the people. He said that International Consortium of International Journalists (ICIJ) admitted that name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not included in Panama Papers.
