ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has said that the ban on any application is not the solution to any problem but it is vital to bring social media platforms in the ambit of rules and regulations.
While addressing the 9th meeting of PM Task Force on IT & Telecom held at the Committee Room of the Ministry of IT in Islamabad on Thursday, the minister said that the IT Ministry is not in the favor of any type of ban on social media applications but there will be no compromise on the Country’s integrity, security, and national interests.
The IT minister said that propaganda against state institutions, hate speech, objectionable material and activities against Islamic and social values will not be tolerated on any platform.
Syed Amin Ul Haque said that our policies are very beneficial for foreign investors and we are fully in favor of innovation in the field of technology.
The Federal Secretary Ministry of IT & Telecom Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and the Co-Chairman of PM Task Force on IT & Telecom Professor Dr. Atta Ur Rehman were also present in the meeting.
The meeting also discussed Universal Service Fund (USF) projects for the provision of broadband services in unserved and underserved areas of the Country and the participants expressed satisfaction on the projects.
