ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the development of the Balochistan province is the priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Talking to the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Head Shahzain Bugti in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will open new opportunities for the development in Balochistan.

During the meeting, Shah Zain Bugti discussed the matter pertaining to development of his constituency and under process developmental projects in Balochistan with the prime minister.

Since the PTI, which is also an ally in the alliance ruling the Balochistan province, has assumed the power in the Centre in August 2018, it has expressed the resolve to remove the grievances and alienation of Baloch populace.

Even the PTI also inked a six-point agreement with its ally Balochistan National Party (BNP) under which, the main ruling party would take initiatives to solve the issue of missing persons, build dams, increase the quota of Balochistan in federal services, and renegotiate the share of mineral resources among fulfilling a couple of other promises.
