Kiev: Ukraine’s Cabinet has survived a vote of no confidence initiated by opposition in the Verkhovna Rada. Only 186 MPs voted for the motion while simple majority needed 226 votes to pass the motion. Opposition actually lost four seats votes comparing to last vote of no confidence motion against the Azarov government that was moved April 19, 2013.

Prime Minister, Nikolay Azarov address the parliament before voting and he apologized for law enforcement agencies’ actions during the dispersal of the pro-EU rally last week.

The motion of no confidence was called in the Rada on December 2 by opposition leaders Arseny Yatsenyuk, of the Homeland (Batkivshchina) party, Vitaly Klitschko, of the Strike (Udar) party, and Oleg Tyagnibok, of the Liberty (Svoboda) party.

It may be mentioned that the opposition could muster 190 votes out of 450 for dismissing Prime Minister Mykola Azarov’s government on April 19, 2013.  Now Opposition could managed only 186, indicating it lost four more votes.
