Monitoring Desk: Shoaib Shaikh arrested, claimed a private television channel while BOL media offices are not responding to confirm this news.
“CEO Axact Group and Bol Group of Media Enterprise Shoaib Shaikh has been under the custody of Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and he would be charged for money laundering and fake degree fraud, claimed leading news channel of Pakistan.
Sources in FIA claimed that Shoaib Shaikh has been arrested after 8 hours of interrogation by FIA but FIA is reluctant to release official status of Shoaib whether is has been arrested or only detained for further investigation. FIA said that a case for fake degree has been registered number 7/2015. Director General Shahid Hayat Khan office confirmed that thousands of fake degrees had been confiscated from an apartment just near to Axact building and this building was indicated by Shoaib Shaikh himself during interrogation.
In his message before his arrest/detaining, Shoaib claimed that some media houses along with FIA are doing a conspiracy against him, Axact and Bol television and asked his workers to stood against this conspiracy. Here is his last recorded video message to his workers:

It may be mentioned that Sindh High Court on Monday rejected protective bail filed by Shoaib Shaikh but ordered authorities not to harass the complainant.
Sources in BOL confirmed that FIA called Shoaib Shaikh for questioning at evening but did not confirm his arrest.
“Shoaib Shaikh was interrogated. He is with us but officially he is not arrested. However, we got more credible evidences to clamp him in fake degree scandals. News items on televisions about Shoaib are pre-mature unless he arrest him officially”, said one FIA sources with condition of anonymity as he is not authorized to comment officially.
It may be mentioned that leading journalists Kamran Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Azhar Abbas, Asma Shirazi and Nusrat Javed left the BOLMedia Group on May 23, 2015 amid a controversy currently faced by its owner IT Company Axact.
Kamran Khan joined the BOL Media Group as President and Editor-in-Chief on July 27 last year days after he left Geo TV while Iftikhar Ahmad joined the group as the Senior Executive Vice President & Senior Anchorperson on October 18 last year.
Azhar Abbas joined the group as the President and CEO in September 2013 while Asma Shirazi joined BOL News on October 24, 2014 as Executive Vice President and Senior Anchorperson. Moreover, Nusrat Javed joined BOL News as Executive Vice President & Senior Anchorperson on January 22, 2015.
Their resignations come when the Karachi-based Software Company is under an investigation regarding its alleged involvement in the fake degrees scandal.
