Austria shows interest in hydropower generation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Austria has said that it has a keen interest in hydropower generation in Pakistan with particular reference of financing 1,300 megawatt additional power project in Tarbela-V.

A meeting was held in Islamabad between the federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar and the Austrian Ambassador to Pakistan Mag. Axel Wech.

The Tarbela-V power project will cost $400 million dollars while it would be completed by the end of 2017.

During the meeting, the finance minister invited the Austrian companies to invest in energy and infrastructure development sectors in Pakistan, saying there is huge potential in these sectors with attractive incentives.
