Minister for Water and Power‚ Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the government is taking concrete steps to bring improvement in the energy sector.

In an interview‚ he said the government has already achieved the target to produce sixteen thousand megawatt of electricity and it is making all out efforts to reduce load-shedding and control electricity theft.

The Minister said those elements involved in the power pilferage‚ would be given punishment according to law.

He said that smooth power supply would be ensured to the industry after Ramazan ul Mubarak.

He said that the problem of power load-shedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was due to non-payment of electricity bills.

He said that focus is being made to improve transmission lines and transformers so that smooth flow of electricity is made possible.
