ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Tuesday underlined that the Parliament should play a proactive role in international affairs.
In his address at the Inaugural Ceremony of fifth Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Asia Regional Conference 2019 in Islamabad, Asad Qaiser said cooperation between Pakistan’s Parliament and CPA would continue for deepening democratic links.
The speaker national assembly urged that Member States would have to work jointly for strengthening democracy and promotion of economic progress. He said Pakistan would continue to play its role for promotion of Parliamentary relationship in the World.
Asad Qaiser said an alliance would have to be developed against violence, extremist and terrorism. He further said improvement was taking place in the region despite hurdles in democracy.

In his remarks, the speaker also thanked the Parliamentary delegations from Silence, guests from United Kingdom, Malaysia, Uganda & all participating branches from provincial legislatures of Pakistan for coming together for the CPA Asia Regional Conference 2019, and reaffirming their commitment of strengthening democracy.
“It is indeed a matter of great honour for me to have distinguished guests and colleagues from Commonwealth fraternity in our midst today at the 5th CPA Asia Regional Conference,” he said.
