ISLAMABAD: The Awami National Party (ANP) would support Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) candidate Senator Raza Rabbani in the presidential election, the party’s leader Haji Adeel said.

The ANP parliamentarians will cast their vote for Rabbani, Adeel said, adding that they had not been contacted by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“The PML-N is yet to finalize a candidate,” he said.

The presidential election in scheduled to be held on August 6 and the PPP, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, PTI have finalized their candidates for the post. The PML-N has shortlisted three candidates.
