ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Vice-Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui advised all Regional Directors to set up `Special camp’ at their offices for student’s guidance.

He also directed the Admission Department to provide maximum facilities to the applicants in taking admission in their desired discipline as well as ensuring availability of admission forms at nearest places, said a press release on Tuesday.

   

The admissions for the Semester Spring, 2016 from SSC to PhD-level in various disciplines would start from February 1 and last date for the admission would be March 4.

Necessary steps have already been taken to ensure transparency in the admission, examination, results and books’ delivery process and complete it within stipulated time-frame.

A computerized and mobile messaging system has also been put in place to keep the students informed about the admissions and attend their queries.

According to Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain, computerized admission forms have been sent to all the continuing students. The University has also place the same at its official website.

The Admissions of PhD would be offered in Distance and Non Formal Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Special Education, Educational Planning and Management, Science Education, Agricultural Extension, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry and History.

The admissions of MS will be offered in Management Sciences, Environmental Design and Computer Sciences, M.Phil will be offered in Distance and Non Formal Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Educational Planning and Management, Special Education, Science Education, Statistics, Physics, Urdu and Economics.

The admissions of M.Sc (Hons) will include in Rural Development, livestock management and agriculture extension while the admissions of M.Sc will offer in Mass Communication, TV Production, Sociology, Mathematics, Statistic, Chemistry, Microbiology, Forestry Extension and Physics.

The admissions of Master would be offered in Master in Librarian and Information Sciences (MLIS), TEFL, History, Teacher Education, Special Education, DNFE, EPM, Col MBA/MPA and M.Com. Under M.Ed programme, the admissions would be offered in Teacher Education, Science Education, Special Education and DNFE.

Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Computer Science, EPM and TEFL, BS in Chemistry and Microbiology, under Teacher Education programme, the admission of CT and ATTC, Associate Degree in Commerce would also be offered.
