ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold a summer camp for the aspiring students to teach them basics of French language from July 18.

Accordingly, it has invited applications for children aged between 6-19 years for their registration in “French Language Summer Camp”. It will be open for all the children living in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Last date for registration is July 15 while classes will be started on July 18. Various fun-based activities like games, drawings, paintings, role plays, cooking and singing will be arranged as tool to teach the language in simplest possible way.

The camp will be arranged as per the directives of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui to engage the children in healthy and knowledge-based activities during their summer vacations.

The teaching of foreign languages is an important area and the University wished that the children should get the opportunity to learn the language which is already being taught through its regular academic program.

The University is also working on a plan to start classes of Chinese Language and it is hoped similar facility will be available to them from next year.

Admission forms for joining the camp could be obtained University’s the Department of French at its main campus.

Registration fee is Rs. 5,000. However there would be 50% fee concession for the children of University’s employees.

The interested children have been advised to pay the fee in the AIOU’s designated branches MCB, National Bank, Allied Bank and First Women Bank and send the form to the Department of French along with the Challan copy (Original).
