Kabul, Afghanistan: After claiming gains to all bordering provinces, the Taliban have virtually locked already land-locked Afghanistan by cutting the access of the country to neighboring five countries – Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Pakistan.

According to information reaching Kabul, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and China have closed down their borders with Afghanistan on Saturday.

Tajikistan and Iran have installed special troops at their borders because Afghans are trying to cross borders and entering into neighbouring countries. , Iranian Army Lieutenant Commander for Operations Brigadier General Farhad Arianfar confirmed the slightest movement along the country’s Eastern borders is being monitored round the clock.

During a press conference in Moscow, Taliban leaders claim they are now controlling 85 per cent of Afghanistan territory while Kabul government has denied the claim.
