Islamabad, Pakistan: US media is mum and official sources are yet to release any statement about claims of Taliban that they have shot down one US B-52 and all crew on board was dead.

Iran Based Fars News Agency released this image of a burnt B-52 and claimed it was victim of Taliban on Wednesday morning. However, photo looks like of some previous incident when some B 52 crashed at landing strip

According to Syrian based Muraselon News Agency which cited a tweet of Taliban claimed that the incident took place when the aircraft was taking off from the Shawrab Airbase  in southern Afghanistan in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Taliban claimed that Islamic Emirate targeted a US B-52 bomber with heavy weapons today early morning in Lar area in the Washir district of Helmand Province.

It is pertinent to mention that Taliban also attacked this same Airbase on March 1, 2019 and claimed heavy losses to Afghan and US forces. This is second lethal attack on this base within 40 days.

They also claimed that all of its crew was killed in the strike. However, Afghan and US authorities are yet to comment over this claim.

Meanwhile Iran based Fars News Agency has released a photo of burnt B-52 and claimed this was the victim of Taliban attack today. However, photo looks like a previous incident when some of B-52 was crashed at landing strip.

Taliban are negotiating a deal with US authorities in Doha for peace but they do not stop fight against Afghan as well as against foreign troops and war is going on along with dialogue since last 6 months.
