KABUL, Afghanistan: Under the directive of Prime Minister Imam Khan, Pakistan’s first consignment of humanitarian assistance comprising food and medicines for the people of Afghanistan as a goodwill gesture reached Kabul on Thursday.

In total, three C-130s carrying humanitarian assistance comprising food and medicines are being dispatched to Afghanistan.

The first C-130 aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carrying relief goods/humanitarian assistance for the Afghan people landed at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on Thursday.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan and the Senior Official of the Afghan Public Health Haji Omer received the relief package which comprised around 10 tons of flour, 1.5 tons of ghee, and a huge quantity of medicine.

Earlier on Wednesday, in a statement, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that the government of Pakistan would continue to do its best to help Afghan brethren during the prevalent challenging environment.

“Pakistan also urges the international community to play its role in helping the people of Afghanistan to avert a possible humanitarian crisis,” Asim Iftikhar said.
