After massive public outcry PTA has restored the access to IMDb (Internet Movie Data Base) according to news desk. Still there is no such official statement that why the access was blocked across the Pakistan but now IMDb is accessible. PTA spokesperson Khurram Mehran confirmed on Friday that a block on the website had been reversed just days after it went into effect. According to sources on November 19, PTA issued a notification asking ISPs to block IMDb, as per a decision taken by the Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC)
The portal is ranked number 7 on the “Top 10: Must-know Entertainment Websites” by askmen.com. With 4.7 million fans on its Facebook page and a massive 995,279 followers on Twitter. The first news regarding IMDb being blocked in Pakistan was published at (DND) Dispatch News Desk on 11 November @ 12:56 pm and the story went viral gaining large amount of search traffic.
