KARACHI: The was a news that renowned philanthropist, social activist and humanitarian figure Abdul Sattar Edhi has reportedly passed away in Karachi on Friday but his organisation confirmed he is alive and dispelled such news. Dawan Newspaper published statement of his family.

The 86-year-old Edhi, who is the founder of Edhi foundation, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (EIUT) in Karachi a couple days ago due to ill health.

Last year, it was reported that his kidneys have failed and he will have to be on dialysis for the rest of his life.

 

Edhi is an icon for humanity in Pakistan.
