PTV: Pakistan would resume its innings at 286 runs for 4 in first innings of opening Test match against England in Abu Dhabi which will be aired on PTV Sports on Wednesday morning.

Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The fast bowler Imran Khan was included in the 11-member squad as a replacement of Yasir Shah because the later failed the fitness test.

Its opener Shan Masood fell quickly when he was bowled for only 2 runs by James Anderson. But then Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik established a 168-run partnership before Hafeez got out at 173 runs. He was just 2 runs short of making his century as he was given LBW to Benjamin Andrew Stokes’ ball on 98 runs.

The next batsman Younis Khan made 38 runs before he was caught by Alastair Cook off the bowling of Stuart Broad. However, Younis Khan became Pakistan’s leading scores in Test matches by breaking the previous record of 8832 runs set by Javed Miandad.

Younis Khan broke the 22-year-old record of Javed Miandad in his 102th Test match. He has also scored 30 Test centuries, more than any Pakistani batsman in Test history.

Shoaib Malik completed his third Test century, and first after his return to Pakistan Test squad after five years.
