PakistanElection Commission allots 'arrow' as electoral symbol to PPPP

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday allotted the symbol of arrow to Pakistan Peoples’ Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

The symbol was allotted after a hearing at the ECP headquarters in Islamabad, PPP leader Makhdom Amin Faheem informed the media. The PPP will contest the election on the symbol of arrow, he said.

A three-member bench headed by Justice (retd) Riaz Kiani heard the case regarding the applications submitted by the PPP’s Senator Jehangir Badar‚ Ghinwa Bhutto’s PPP-Shaheed Bhutto and Naheed Khan-led party seeking registration of PPP in their names.

The ECP postponed its decision on March 19 for allotment of symbol of arrow to the PPP after Naheed Khan also sought the same symbol. It asked all three to appear before it on 25 March with relevant proof to back their stances.

After the ECP’s decision, Naheed Khan said that she would appeal against the commission’s decision.
