ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The government is considering to raise the issue of Indian spy agency’s involvement in terror activities in Pakistan with the United Nations, the Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said on Friday.

In his statement during question hour in the National Assembly on Friday, the advisor said that the Indian premier spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has been involved in Pakistan especially in Balochistan and the northwestern tribal region.

The advisor said that Pakistan will take up the issue of RAW’s activities in Pakistan with the United Nations and other international forums as it has already done with various foreign leaders in the past.

Sartaj Aziz said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also raise this issue at the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.

Moreover, he told the House that during the foreign secretary level talks held in March 2015, the foreign secretary had raised the issue with his Indian counterpart.

The relations between the two nuclear-armed neighboring countries have become even more tense in recent months. The exchange of fire at the border and accusations against each other have become normal routine.

The latest such occurrence took place when on Thursday the Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the Lok Sabha that the gunmen who stormed a police station in Gurdaspur district of Indian Punjab on July 27 had come from Pakistan via Ravi river.

In response, Pakistan categorically rejected the baseless allegations made by the Indian home minister, saying that such provocative comments are a threat to peace and security of the region.
